There’s a reason why ABT Sportsline is one of our favorite auto tuners in the world. The German company knows how to make programs that improve the cars they work on without going overboard with the modifications. It takes a specific set of skills to do that and ABT has it down path. Its new program for the Volkswagen Scirocco is living proof of that.
The two-fold modification is made up of an extensive aero kit and an impressive performance bump that breathes new life to the Scirocco. That’s not an easy thing to pull off and yet ABT Sportsline does with the ease of a tuner that knows what it’s doing.
Other tuners may promise the same things and yet fail to live up to all the expectations they set. That’s never been the case with ABT Sportsline. Over the years, it’s produced one impressive program after another. And as long as it can build kits like this for the Volkswagen Scirocco, there’s no reason for us to start doubting their tuning capabilities.
Not that we ever did because if we haven’t said it enough, we’ll say it again.

Spa-Francorchamps is one of the most challenging motor-racing circuits you will find in the Formula One Belgian Grand Prix. It measures 4.352 miles and features 20 turns. The current record at the track is held by Sebastian Vettel who lapped it back in 2009 in 1:47.263.
This challenging circuit was the perfect place for the BAC Mono to prove what it is capable of. This test comes just a few days after the Mono managed to smash Top Gear’s test track record with a time of 1:14.3, thereby bettering the times of all but the 720-horsepower Pagani Huayra.
The two BAC Monos running at Spa were driven by Ron Simons, who was almost unbeatable in wet conditions at Spa for years and TV personality Sabine Schmitz.

The brand-new BMW M3 is only one month away from going on sale in the United States, but it appears that the German manufacturer is still working on those final track adjustments. Late last month, no less than three BMW M3s were caught on film while being hooned on the iconic Nurburgring track and the footage has finally surfaced the Internet.
It isn’t clear whether or not BMW is still developing the car’s ability to stay glued to the asphalt, while taking both fast and slow turns, but this three-minute video is bound to keep potential customers on their toes. In fact, it doesn’t matter if the new M3 is on your list or not, this is a spectacle you can’t miss.
As a brief reminder, the 2014 BMW M3 will hit U.S. dealerships with a turbocharged 3.0-liter, inline-six engine under the hood. The sedan (the coupe is now sold as the M4) benefits from 425 horsepower and 406 pound-feet of torque. Two transmissions are available, a standard six-speed manual and an optional seven-speed automatic.
The vehicle starts from $62,000 and has enough boxes on the options list to take a well-equipped model into $70,000 territory.

Case in point, this 2014 911 Turbo painted in a unique shade dubbed Lime Gold Metallic. The paint, however is only the starting point with this car. Blacked-out bi-xenon headlights and clear taillights, along with a deeper tint on the windows help move this 911 further away from normalcy.
Inside the story is much the same. The owner wanted everything finished in a deep chocolate brown contrasted by seats finished in the same Lime Gold Metallic hue the exterior is treated to. Talk about melting in your mouth…
Porsche will happily take your custom order with the help of two U.S. salesmen – one on each coast – who’s sole job is helping Porschephiles make their German sports car or SUV a personalized statement of their individualized taste.
Mechanically, this 911 Turbo is bone stock. Its 3.8-liter, twin-turbo flat-six still produces a monstrous 520 horsepower and 487 pound-feet of torque sent to all four wheels. Zero to 60 mph times are laughably quick at 3.2 second, while the quarter-mile will likely scare you as the 3,500-pound car rockets past the line in a hair’s breath over 10 seconds. Phenomenal.

What do the Mercedes C63 AMG Black Series, Jaguar XKR-S GT and Aston Martin V12 Vantage S have in common? Pretty much nothing at a first look: one comes from Germany, two from the UK; one gets a supercharged V-8, one a V12 and one a naturally aspirated V-8 engine.
Still, the guys over the British magazine AutoCar wanted to see how the three cars will behave one next to the other and prepared a very cool test drive. From the beginning Autocar’s judge Steve Sutcliffe admits that the C63 AMG Black Series is his favorite super coupe is the C63 AMG Black Series and wants to see if the other two are powerful or delicate enough to unseat it and make him change his mind.

Back in October we reported that SRT needed to slow production of the new generation Viper, due to poor demand. However, it looks like now Ralph Gilles, president and CEO of Chrysler’s SRT Brand and Motorsports, says that the car has indeed a bright future and that the company has “several hundred units outstanding we still have to build.”
Gilles said that the Viper indeed had some problems at launch and this is why the company had to postpone initial deliver, but now the interest in the new Viper is very strong.
It looks like the problem was not the car, but the dealers whom had no idea how to promote the car. The new Viper has a base price of $97,395 – a lot more than the previous car, so it was to be expected to hear that customers will ask more for the money. SRT wants to allow its customers to choose “their color, their stripe, their package, their interior,” but the dealers wanted to “anticipate the market and ended up creating a car that may not be the right car.”
To fix the problem SRT launched a fourth-quarter training program called “All Access Tour” that brings together dealers, current owners and potential customers. Basically thanks to this new program, the potential buyers will have the chance to test the car and see what they will get for the money.
Gilles confirmed that all the Anodized Carbon were spoken for and that the new Time Attack edition sold out in just three days.

Jay Leno’s clout in the auto industry is well established. That’s one of the perks of being a certified car enthusiast but in the comedian’s case, automakers trip over themselves to get featured in his own auto web show series, Jay Leno’s Garage.
Recently, Jaguar took its turn and it brought along its latest pride and joy, the Jaguar F-Type V8 S. Eric Johnson, vice president of Jaguar Western Region, presented the car to Leno and true to the script, the pair began by talking about the car before Leno does what he seemingly always does: take the F-Type V8 S for a spin. Obviously, a car of the F-Type V8 S’ stature deserves to have some kind of special attention given to it and Leno was quick to point out how impressed he was with its 5.0-liter V-8 engine that produces 495 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque.
In addition to the F-Type V-8 S, the episode also featured Leno’s drive of another one of Jaguar’s recent builds: the Project 7 Concept. Like we said, this guy really gets all the treats, doesn’t he?

Do you remember the 997 Turbo BTR-II 650 EVO SpeedArt unveiled back n 2010? Today the same tuner turned its attention to the BTR-II package one more time and came up with a new version. This time around, the kit is called BTR-II 600 EVO Ultra Edition and unfortunately, it is a little bit less powerful than the first edition, but one benefit it that the tuner applied the kit to a convertible model.
This tuning kit pushes the Porsche’s engine to 600 horsepower – 50 horsepower less than the BTR-II 650 EVO model. To achieve this output level, the tuner installed its Powerkit III system, a sports exhaust system with a sound switch, 200-cell sports catalytic converter and 84 mm tailpipes. Peak torque was also increased to 590 pound-feet. This represents a significant increase over the base 500 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque delivered by the 997 Turbo.
Next to the extra power, the BTR-II 600 EVO Ultra Edition received an adjustable sport suspension with PASM and air lift for more ground clearance and a meaner appearance.

Mini added a Coupe version to its lineup at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show and put it on sale in the North American market in early 2012. Since then, the model remained pretty much unchanged and so it will for the 2014 model year.
The new Mini Coupe was previewed by the Coupe Concept that Mini unveiled at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show and it is based on the Mini Cabriolet. However, unlike the cabriolet, the Coupe offers just two seats on the inside, so customers can enjoy increased trunk space when compared to the Mini Cabriolet.
Despite being a tiny city car and the Gran Turismo-styled rear end, the 2014 Coupe will be intimately distinguished as a Mini model, thanks to its standard headlights and grille.
As with the previous model years, customers can choose between three different versions: Cooper, Cooper S and John Cooper Works.

Back in January, Jaguar announced that its new F-Type sports roadster would be featured in a new video called “Desire,” which is set to be released later this spring. Now the sports car is once again featured in a video, but this time around it is a trailer for a film named “Desire” video.
After these two teasers, we are excited to finally see the full “Desire” film, which was created in collaboration with Ridley Scott Associates.
The film obviously takes place in the desert, where the main character – Clark, played by actor Damian Lewis – delivers cars for a living. He gets into trouble after encountering a mysterious, young woman (Shannyn Sossamon) in the middle of the desert. Alongside them, the video will also star Jordi Moll and music by BRIT award winner Lana Del Rey.

Wolf Racing is no stranger to aftermarket programs for the Ford Focus ST. It’s done it before and now it’s doing it again.
This time, though, the Focus ST was treated to a wide range of modifications, highlighted by a performance kits that crams the word “sports” back into “sports hatchback.”
The first kit, appropriately dubbed Stage I, provides a significant boost to the Focus ST’s 2-liter EcoBoost engine, thanks to a new air filter and a remapped ECU. With these modifications, the Focus ST can pump out 285 horsepower and 326 pound-feet of torque from its tiny engine. This nets the ST a 0-to-100 km/h (62 mph) time of 6.5 seconds.
If you’re above sub-300-horsepower hatchbacks, then you can opt for the Stage II kit, which adds a turbocharger to the air filter/ECU combo of Stage I. In the end, there’s another notable output jump, this time up to 300 horsepower and 333 pound-feet of twist.
Last but not least is the Stage III kit, which includes everything found in Stages i and II, plus it slaps a new sports exhaust system under the Focus. Now that the Focus ST can properly exhale, it is capable of massacring pavement to the tune of 370 horsepower and 409 pound-feet of torque.
With all of that extra power comes the extra responsibility of dragging it to a halt and a new performance brake system is responsible for that. Additionally, Wolf Racing tosses in a coilover suspension that drops the Focus ST by 50 mm (1.96 inches) in the front and 40 mm (1.57 inches) in the rear.
It’s not like Wolf Racing to add that much pop to the Focus ST and just stop there. Nope, this program also includes a number of new styling components, including: headlight covers, roof spoiler lips, and new side skirt and rear skirt attachments.

People are talking about a more powerful version of the Aston Martin Rapide ever since the standard model was dropped onto the market in 2010. In the past few months, the new Rapide S has been caught testing a few times, and now it has finally made its world debut.
The new Rapide S replaces the old Rapide in the company’s lineup and has been described as “the most powerful four-door Aston Martin to date.” The model is powered by an improved version of the new AM11 naturally aspirated 6.0-litre V-12 powerplant that adds in some extra ponies.
Along with the engine improvement, the Rapide S will receive a revised front grille and rear lip spoiler. There is also an optional Carbon Exterior Pack that further improves the sporty appearance of the luxury sedan.
The new Aston Martin Rapide S will be put on sale next month.

The sixth-generation Corvette went into production in 2005 and since then a total of 215,100 units have been produced. Yesterday, February 28, 2013 at 8:04 a.m., the last 2013 Corvette came off the line at the Bowling Green Assembly Plant. The last unit produced was an exclusive Corvette 427 Convertible Collector Edition outfitted with the 60th Anniversary design package that adds an Arctic White exterior combined with a Blue Diamond leather-wrapped interior.
This special edition is powered by a 7.0-liter LS7 aluminum-block V-8 engine that delivers a total of 505 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque. It sprints from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.8 seconds and can hit a top speed of 190 mph.
This last unit will be displayed alongside other historic General Motors vehicles at the GM Heritage Center in Warren, Michigan.
Now that the sixth-generation Corvette is out of production, GM workers have begun remodeling the plant for the production of the all-new 2014 Stingray.

For any Ferrari enthusiast out there, the most amazing car ever launched by the company is no doubt the Testarossa – a car that stole the heart of many of us especially when it appeared in the “Miami Vice” movie.
Petrolicious has prepared an awesome tribute video to the Testarossa that proves the supercar deserves even more respect than you probably have imagined. Yes, we do know many of you consider the Lamborghini Countach to be a better “supercar,” but we are pretty sure you are going to change your mind after watching this video – or maybe at least accept the Testarossa a worthy adversary.
The car featured in this video belongs to vintage car collector, Joe Ventura, a man lucky enough to live daily with this beautiful redhead next to him.
This also makes us wonder is Ferrari would ever consider bringing the Testarossa back. What a joyous day that would be.

Austrian tuner, MS Design, has prepared a nice surprise for the upcoming 2013 Geneva Motor Show: a new styling package for the Ford Focus ST. Unfortunately, the new kit brings no engine upgrades, but the exterior upgrades transform it into a very cool hatchback.
The new competition kit starts with an aerodynamic package that includes a new front spoiler, new side skirts, a rear diffuser and a roof spoiler. The car sits on a set of 20-inch wheels painted in the same color as the exterior. The example Focus ST that MS Design has shown us is painted white with black racing stripes.
The final improvement is the addition of a new sport chassis that significantly improves the Focus ST’s response for the right cornering during full speed.
Full details on this tuner kit will be unveiled during its official debut at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show, so stay tuned for more details.
Every car owner would crave for individuality, from the cheap Tata Nano to the bank-account-wiping Bugatti Veyron. That’s why there are one-off special editions fetching top dollar just for its exclusivity. So much for individuality…
The owner of this Jaguar XKR-S didn’t feel satisfied just having one of the baddest production Jags ever. So the boys at Superior Automotive Design decided to redefine the word “exclusive” and, judging from the picture above, they have done a great job at it.
This metallic cat is wrapped in chrome, which according to S.A.D owner, Kris Lim, was a tough challenge, as heat doesn’t work on the material and neither does stretching the material, unlike other custom wraps. Nevertheless, since the decision to wrap the car in chrome was made already, they went about installing the wrap and finished the build in a fortnight. With careful attention to detail, the wrap is seamless in this example, and adds a bling factor to the reclusive kitty. In fact, Justin Bieber and his Fisker Karma are in awe of its blinginess.
A full chrome wrap is a little bit too cheesy, so, S.A.D decided to balance that out by adding black accents to certain elements of the car. With this addition, the XKR-S is a perfect combination of bling and wickedness, an aspect expected if your team is into car customization.
With already 550 horses powering this Jag, S.A.D decided to leave the powertrain alone since Jaguar themselves have done a great job at it. So, no harm done here…
Overall, we think this build looks absolutely fantastic, though we aren’t huge fans of chrome wrap. We think it’s the black accents that make it stand out among the rest of the chrome-wrapped cars. Nice touch, S.A.D.
While we are all waiting for the new-generation Porsche Turbo to arrive on the market, D2Forged has updated the look of the current 997 generation with a new set of rollers. No other changes have been made, but as you know when it comes to cars like this, minor changes are all you really need.
D2Forged added a set of CV2 Concave wheels measuring 20-by-9 inches up front and 20-by-13 inches at the rear. The wheels feature a brushed aluminum Center with hi-polished flange and chrome lip. In order to further customize its wheels, D2Forged also added a hand-painted red “D2” center cap logo.
Under the hood no changes were necessary because the 997 Turbo is nearly perfect from factory, thanks to its 3.8-liter six-cylinder engine that serves up 500 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque. The 911 sprints from 0 to 60 mph in only 3.4 seconds and goes up to a top speed of 194 mph.
In the past few months we have seen lots of special Ferrari models, the latest one being the SP12 EPC — a 458 Italia specially designed for Eric Clapton. Today, however, is time for another special Ferrari: the 770 Daytona Milano. It is based on the latest F12berlinetta and has been designed by E.Milano in cooperation with Pininfarina.
At this moment we cannot provide you with many details on this amazing project, but we do know that it will feature a nose that is heavily inspired by the 365 GTB/4 Daytona/ With “770” in the title, we can only assume that this is a reference to a 770-horsepower engine output — a 30-horsepower increase over the F12berlinetta’s 740 horses.
Additionally, Milano Torino announced that the 770 Daytona program will also work on the Ferrari 612 Berlinetta or 599 in collaboration with either Pininfarina S.P.A. or Fioravanti S.P.A., respectively.
It was little more than logic that once Porsche dropped new-generation Boxster onto the market, the Cayman was the next one to be uncovered. Its world debut was made today at the 2012 Los Angeles Auto Show and sales on the American market will begin in the Spring of 2013 a starting price of $52,600 for the Cayman and $63,800 for the Cayman S. Prices do not include a destination charge of $950.
The problem is that the next-generation Cayman offers no surprises. The design language, interior and engine lineup, we have seen it all in the previously announced Boxster. When compared to the previous generation, the new Cayman is 66 lbs lighter and 15 percent more fuel efficient. Engine’s output has also been increased by 10 horsepower in the standard model and by 5 horsepower in the S version.
With all those updates is the new Cayman any better than the model it replaces?

Chris Harris has shot another incredible video: he put a Porsche 911 GT2 RS and a Ducati 1199 Panigale in a drag race. A similar video was shot during the summer and the Porsche was actually destroyed. This second video was made to provide the Porsche with an opportunity to exact its revenge.
They went to a 2 mile runway to see what happens when you let a GT2 RS stretch beyond 150 mph, but the question is, what happened? Check out the video for the answer!
The Porsche 911 GT2 RS delivers an impressive 620 HP and sprints from 0 to 62 mph in 3.5 seconds. The Ducati 1199 Paningale, on the other hand, delivers a total of 195 HP, leaving the RS with a huge advantage. Will it help?
No bikers or drivers were hurt in the making of this film.
Okay, we all pretty much figured that the BRZ and FR-S would likely have a strong presence in SEMA this year, as it was only one of the most talked about cars all year. To boot, with Toyota and Subaru dragging their collective feet about releasing higher-performance models, aftermarket companies have been working double-time to develop performance parts to hop up its 200-horsepower 4-banger engine.
Our colleagues over at Rides magazine managed to compile a gallery chock-full of just about every BRZ and FR-S at SEMA. We’re not too sure if this is a complete list of the examples at SEMA, but the total count in the gallery is 50 different examples – all but one or two are of the FR-S. We’re not too sure exactly how many cars showed up for SEMA this year, but we can say with some confidence that the FR-S takes the trophy for most heavily represented at the show.

At this point, all we can say is that Audi must enjoy messing with our heads. In the Spring, our spy photographers caught the R8 e-tron testing around the Nurburgring a number of times. Then, in June, the same car became the fastest electric vehicle around the Nurburgring.
Surely, this is a vehicle that is on its way to becoming a prized possession of many environmentally friendly people who still enjoy to cruise around at high speeds, right? Negative. Audi has decided that it will be putting this project on hold and could even be axing it in the future.
The decision to put the car on hold was made by Audi’s new R&D chief Wolfgang D rheimer who thinks that the high price of the batteries could still be a problem. He also fears that there aren’t enough customers interested in an electric car of this caliber.
This seems to be a reasonable explanation for putting a vehicle on the back-burner, but we’re still a little bummed that we will not be seeing the R8 e-tron in all of its glory. Then again, we can take comfort in the fact that the Audi F12 E Performance Prototype is still out there, chugging along with the R8 e-tron’s technology, so not all is lost.
If the name “Seven-11” sounds familiar, it’s only because the guys over at Wheelsandmore had another tuning kit bearing the same name, but it was based on a Mercedes CLS63 AMG. The second package announced is even more impressive and it is based on the SL63 AMG.
Wheelsandmore’s new SL63 AMG Seven-11 is painted in “Armageddon-Matte-Gray” then combined with traditional Wheelsandmore race-stripes. There is also a new set of 20″ 6Sporz forged wheels offered as standard, or an optional set of 20/21 inch staggered combination.
The most impressive modification done for the SL63 AMG can be found under the hood. The standard SL63 AMG delivers a total of 537 HP, but the guys at Wheelsandmore added new sport catalysts, a flap-controlled exhaust system, an optimized air induction, and remapped software to the twin-turbocharged 5.5-liter V8 engine. As a result, the V8 engine now delivers an impressive 700 HP and 811 lbs-ft of torque.
The Mercedes was also equipped with a newly developed LowMaXX electronic lowering module which automatically switches off at 43 mph in order to provide comfort and safety reserves.
