Remember the day when mid-sized convertibles were as trendy as the mullet hairstyle? Those days are long gone, which is why it’s a little surprising that automakers are still producing these vehicles.
Consumers still love convertibles, but these days, it has to be of the sporty variety. The 2013 Chrysler 200 Convertible is not a sports car, but it does come with the capability of being a convertible. So you can say that the vehicle offers the best of both worlds, right? The sporty performance of a coupe and the open-air freedom of a convertible all wrapped in a midsized vehicle’s body.
To be fair, there are a number of positive attributes with the 200 Convertible. It’s been completely refreshed to make Chrysler forget about the forsaken Sebring. It also has an impressive powertrain configuration that does justice to its looks.
So there’s still hope for the 200 Convertible. But hope is fleeting, especially in the auto industry and ultimately, the midsized convertible is a dying breed.
Chrysler may have something with the 200 Convertible but for the most part, it’s going to take a lot of convincing to get people interested in this kind of car these days.

The model is limited to 918 units and will carry a price tag ranging from 781,155 (about $1million) to 853,155 ($1.1 million) when you also opt for the Weissach package.

Jay Leno’s clout in the auto industry is well established. That’s one of the perks of being a certified car enthusiast but in the comedian’s case, automakers trip over themselves to get featured in his own auto web show series, Jay Leno’s Garage.
Recently, Jaguar took its turn and it brought along its latest pride and joy, the Jaguar F-Type V8 S. Eric Johnson, vice president of Jaguar Western Region, presented the car to Leno and true to the script, the pair began by talking about the car before Leno does what he seemingly always does: take the F-Type V8 S for a spin. Obviously, a car of the F-Type V8 S’ stature deserves to have some kind of special attention given to it and Leno was quick to point out how impressed he was with its 5.0-liter V-8 engine that produces 495 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque.
In addition to the F-Type V-8 S, the episode also featured Leno’s drive of another one of Jaguar’s recent builds: the Project 7 Concept. Like we said, this guy really gets all the treats, doesn’t he?

The kit also includes two aero wings and new side skirts. The car sits on a set of alloy wheels sized 20 or 21 inches and are offered in a five-spoke design.
TechArt also offers a new racing exhaust system with valve control and double center tailpipes that offer a more aggressive exhaust sound.
For the interior, the tuner is offering black leather sport seats plus numerous elements in black leather and green decorative stitching. There is also a three-spoke sport steering wheel wrapped in black leather and Alcantara with green stitching, paddle shifters in black matte finish with green symbols, and green TechArt Dials.
Prices for the new kit will be announced during its official debut in Geneva.
