Only one year has passed since Nissan revived its Datsun brand by introducing the GO hatchback, and the Japanese manufacturer has just confirmed its return to the compact car segment (C-segment in Europe) with a brand-new vehicle.
Dubbed Pulsar, a name previously used for a line of compact cars sold in Asia and Australia since 1978 (not to be confused with the Pulsar NX sports car marketed in the U.S. between 1983 and 1990), the new vehicle is a five-door hatchback aimed at models such as the Volkswagen Golf and the Ford Focus.
Nissan’s recipe for the Pulsar is pretty much simple and includes an instantly recognizable design with styling cues borrowed from the Qashqai, small, turbocharged engine that deliver decent power and return attractive fuel economy, and a price tag that’s likely to put the hatchback below most of its competitors.
A big bet for the Japanese automaker in Europe, the Pulsar is basically insignificant to the U.S. market, with Nissan having no plans to ship it across the ocean. This might very well change depending on vehicle’s success in Europe, but we’re at least a couple of years away from a pertinent verdict. Either way, the Pulsar is a hatchback worth looking at, and that’s what we’re about to do after the jump.

Today, Honda unveiled the first teaser image of a new FCEV Concept that it will unveil on November 20th at the Los Angeles Auto Show. According to the initial details, the concept hints at futuristic and aerodynamic design of a next-generation fuel-cell electric vehicle set for release in 2015 in the U.S and Japan, with a European release to follow later.
No other details were offered on this concept so far, but the first teaser image reveals a futuristic design language with a coupe-like profile and pronounced body lines. The concept also gets a large grille, a set of thin headlights, and a set of large and aero-friendly wheels.
“The Honda FCEV Concept demonstrates the company’s vision for the future of personal mobility and our commitment to developing advanced alternative fuel vehicles,” said Mike Accavitti, senior vice president of American Honda Motor Company.

People that are disgusted with the VW Beetle Cabrio, but still want to enjoy open-top freedom with a VW badge on it, will sadly be stuck with the Bug as the only option. So what in the world is VW doing with its peppy VW Eos, you may ask?
Well, in recent studies held by the VW design team, VW concluded that that the market has lost sight of the retractable hardtop vehicles, and are looking for better and cheaper options. The Mercedes-Benz SL-Class, Mercedes-Benz SLK-Class and the BMW Z4 obviously think otherwise.
So, according to Bischoff, there will be no VW Eos in production from next year ownward, bringing misery to the Eos fans-not that we know of.
On the bright side, Klaus Bischoff, VW head of design, said that there will be a larger four-seat, two-door convertible with a soft-top, which is obviously something to compete with the upcoming BMW 4-Series Convertible. However, this will be far less costly than the outgoing EOS, but it will also be more luxury appointed than its predecessor.
Expect to see thislarger drop-top sometime in 2014, as VW unveils its new range of vehicles following its new “top-down” design format.

The last time we saw a G-Powered BMW it was the M5 Hurricane RR, which ended up being the world’s fastest LPG-powered vehicle. Well, G-Power is back for a little bit more, but this time in a much smaller package: the 1M.
If the 1M and its 335-horsepower turbocharged 6-cylinder engine just isn’t enough for you, the BMW 1M G1 V8 Hurricane RS by G-Power just might be the ticket. G-Power took special care of this 1M coupe and brought it to a point that just about any auto enthusiast could be both impressed and scared to death of it at the same time.
What’s awesome, though, is the amount of careful planning that BMW put into the 1M straight from the factory had a direct relationship with the amount of power G-Power was able to crank out. BMW fitted the 1M with the front and rear axles of its M3 counterpart, giving it the clean and stout base that the 1M needs to handle more intense power output.
So, did G-Power earn another gold star with its latest BMW modification or did it fall a little short of the precedent it set with the M5 Hurricane RR?
