Caterham AeroSeven Concept officially revealed [video] – slated to hit the roads in 2014
0 to 100kph (62mph) in under 4 seconds
The cat came out the bag a little early yesterday when the first pictures leaked out but now Caterham has released the official details for the AeroSeven Concept.
It is being displayed for the first time at the Singapore Grand prix this weekend and provides a preview of the production version slated to hit the roads in 2014.
The AeroSeven Concept is based on an updated version of the Caterham Seven CSR platform and boasts technology derived from the brand’s F1 team. This includes a newly developed Caterham Engine Management System as well as adjustable traction control and launch control systems.
Power is generated from a naturally aspirated Ford Duratec-based engine that generates 240PS (237bhp) and enables the concept to accelerate from standstill to 100kph (62mph) in under 4 seconds. Caterham are currently assessing a number of alternative power units that could be used when production is launched.
