Arriving in Geneva

Nissan has introduced the European version of the Note which is scheduled for a public unveiling at the Geneva Motor Show next month.

In July last year Nissan presented the JDM variant of the new Note and now they have revealed its European sibling. Although it’s described as a hatchback, the 2013 Note still looks like a downsized MPV and wants to fight “against more conventional rivals with a very different proposal.”

The entry-level variant will be powered by a 1.2-liter gasoline engine producing 80 HP (59 kW) and 110 Nm (81 lb-ft), enabling the Note to have a combined fuel economy of 4.7 liters / 100 km (60 mpg UK or 50 mpg US) with CO2 emissions of 109 g/km.

Nissan also offers a 1.2-liter DIG-S engine with 98 HP (72 kW) and 142 Nm (105 lb-ft) of torque, allowing the UK-built hatchback to have a fuel consumption of 4.3 liters / 100 km (65.7 mpg UK or 54.7 mpg US) and CO2 emissions of 99 g/km when equipped with the manual.

Lastly, the 2013 Euro-spec Nissan Note can be had with a 1.5-liter turbodiesel generating 90 HP (66 kW) and 219 Nm (162 lb-ft) of torque. In this configuration, the Note has a fuel consumption of 3.6 liters / 100 km (78.4 mpg UK or 65.3 mpg US) with CO2 emissions of 95 g/km.
